A DESIGN TO FALL IN LOVE WITH The third generation of Macbooks still uses the same design as the original version, with a full-size edge-to-edge keyboard with a space-saving speaker grid on top. Because of its slimness, the Macbook uses a butterfly mechanism of the keyboard keys to make them 40% thinner than traditional keyboard keys and change the feel to the touch. Each key comes with a single LED backlight for consistent brightness.
- It is 13.1 mm thick when closed, which makes it the Apple s slimmest laptop so far. The screen portion of the notebook is only 0.88 mm thick. The change in relation to the others, is the inclusion of the polished Apple logo, resembling the one found on the iPhone and iPad.
- GREAT MONITOR The screen of the Macbook is 12 inches and will not leave you indifferent. With its 0.88mm it turns out to be the slimmest Retina screen ever seen on a Mac. It has a resolution of 2304 x 1140 with 226 pixels per inch, an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a viewing angle of 178°. It features redesigned pixels with a larger aperture, allowing more light to pass through.
- REDESIGNED KEYBOARD Wanting to make a slimmer Macbook, they had to redesign the keyboard, making it much thinner than the one of the Macbook Air. Its butterfly mechanism under the keys makes it 40% thinner than a traditional scissor mechanism and more stable. It has an integrated LED on each key so that there is no light leakage around each key.
- TOUCH TRACKPAD The touchpad includes a force sensor function to detect the amount of pressure being applied to the surface of the touchpad, which allows pressure-based gestures. It also has the advantage of being able to register a click anywhere on the touch panel. It includes a Taptic engine that provides tactile feedback every time it is pressed, allowing users to feel what is happening on the screen as well as see it. This provides tangible answers to certain tasks, such as aligning annotations in a PDF.
- INTEL KABY LAKE PROCESSORS The new Macbook uses Intel Kaby Lake processors, which allows fanless operation. At the lower edge, the MacBook includes a 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Core m3 processor, while the higher end machine uses an Intel Core i5 1.3Hz dual-core processor.
- Kaby Lake processors are faster and more efficient than previous generation -the Skylake processors- delivering 20% speed improvements. They feature Intel HD Graphics 615 integrated graphics. The Macbook supports native resolution and can incorporate an external display of up to 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30 Hz.
- IMPROVED MEMORY AND STORAGE MacBook 2017 performance is also enhanced by much faster PCIe based flash storage. In terms of RAM memory, the MacBook 2017 includes 8GB of 1866MHz LPDDR3 memory as a default option, which can be upgraded to 16GB of 1866MHz LPDDR3 memory.
- CONNECTIVITY The slim design of the Macbook does not allow the inclusion of USB and Magsafe ports for charging and, as a result, has only one USB-C port. The port offers fast upload, with up to 5 Gbps data transfer via USB 3.1. And it has a video output that supports HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort 1.2 and connections.
